In a significant diplomatic engagement, Türkiye’s National Intelligence Organization Director Ibrahim Kalın held discussions with Egyptian General Intelligence Service chief Hassan Rashad in Ankara on Monday. The meeting aimed to address the Gaza ceasefire, enhance bilateral cooperation, and tackle critical regional security issues. This interaction marks a step forward in the strengthening ties between Ankara and Cairo, reflecting their increasing coordination in the Middle East and Africa.
A key topic of the talks was the second phase of the Gaza ceasefire agreement. Turkish security sources revealed that both officials agreed to boost coordination and cooperation to counter what they described as Israel’s escalating breaches of the ceasefire. Kalın reiterated Türkiye’s steadfast support for the Palestinian people, emphasizing Ankara’s commitment to providing assistance amid the ongoing conflict.

Kalın and Rashad discussed the evolving situations in Somalia and the conflict in Sudan, which involves the Sudanese Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces.
