Turkey Demands Global Reaction to Israeli Airstrikes in Syria

In a strong rebuke to recent military actions, Türkiye has denounced Israeli strikes in southern Syria, asserting that these attacks compromise Syria’s sovereignty and pose a threat to regional stability. The Turkish Foreign Ministry has expressed serious concern over the operations targeting Quneitra and Daraa, highlighting that they infringe upon Syria’s territorial integrity and contravene international law, as well as the 1974 Separation of Forces Agreement.

Türkiye has raised alarms over the potential humanitarian impacts of these strikes, warning that they could exacerbate the already dire conditions faced by civilians in the region. The Turkish government insists that such military actions undermine ongoing efforts to restore peace and stability in Syria, endangering the security of its population.

The call for international intervention is clear, with Turkish officials urging the global community to step in and help prevent further escalations that might heighten tensions in the region. They believe that coordinated international efforts are crucial in averting additional conflict and fostering a more stable environment.

Burhanettin Duran, Türkiye’s Communications Director, has added his voice to the criticism, emphasizing that the Israeli strikes jeopardize Syria’s security and hinder progress towards achieving long-term peace. These sentiments underscore Türkiye’s commitment to advocating for Syria’s unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity as essential components of regional security.

Türkiye remains steadfast in its support for Syria, reiterating the importance of upholding its territorial claims and sovereignty as a foundation for broader stability in the Middle East. This stance reflects Türkiye’s ongoing commitment to promoting peace and preventing further destabilization in the region.
