Turkish Parliament to Discuss Red Crescent Bill and Central Bank Insights

The Turkish Parliament is set to convene on Tuesday to discuss a new bill related to the Turkish Red Crescent and to hear a presentation from Central Bank Governor Fatih Karahan. The legislation aims to designate the Turkish Red Crescent and similar international organizations as authorized entities for handling aid sent to Türkiye in both routine and emergency scenarios.

The proposed bill includes provisions for compensating Turkish Red Crescent personnel engaged in disaster, conflict, and other extraordinary situations. Additionally, it plans to integrate provincial and district leaders of the Red Crescent into the boards of trustees of local Foundations for Social Assistance and Solidarity.

On the same day, Central Bank Governor Fatih Karahan will present to the Parliamentary Planning and Budget Committee. His address is anticipated to cover key topics such as global economic trends, the state of Türkiye’s economy, inflation, and the country’s monetary policy framework.

In other parliamentary activities, the Public Works, Reconstruction, Transport and Tourism Commission is expected to deliberate on legislation concerning foreign digital accommodation platforms, marking a busy session for Turkish lawmakers.
